Achiraya Completes Thai Ladies Amateur Open Hat-Trick
Achiraya Sriwong claimed her third successive Singha Thailand Ladies Amateur Open title.

Bangkok, Thailand: Teenager Achiraya Sriwong swept to a wire-to-wire victory in the 31st Singha Thailand Ladies Amateur Open Championship – her third successive triumph in the tournament.

The 16-year-old Thai national team representative took command with a brilliant opening bogey-free five-under-par 67 at Lotus Valley Golf Resort – and never looked likely to relinquish her grip on the title.

She consolidated her position atop the leaderboard with a 68 on day two that contained five birdies and a solitary bogey.

From that position, Achiraya was able to coast home with a stress-free closing 73 to reclaim the HM Queen Rambhai Barni Trophy. Such was her consistency that over the course of the 54 holes, she had just three bogeys.

Achiraya’s eight-under-par total of 208 was seven shots clear of Chonpansa Tawinsang and Thitikarn Thapasit who shared second place.

With her latest success, Achiraya will edge closer to breaking into the top-100 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) in which she began the week in 118th place.

For Achiraya, who took up the game when she was aged four, her latest win continued an excellent run of form.

Among her highlights in the past year have been a third place finish in the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific at Siam Country Club in February and a runner-up finish in the Singapore Open Women’s Amateur.

She was also part of the Thailand teams that competed in the Queen Sirikit Cup in New Zealand and the Southeast Asian Games in 2023 when they won the silver medal.
