WAAP Debuts Awaits Senior Star Nadene

Melbourne, Australia: Senior record-setter Nadene Gole will join five up-and-comers in a six-strong Australian line-up at the 2025 Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific (WAAP).

The 56-year-old Victoria Golf Club’s Gole will make her WAAP debut at Hoiana Shores Golf Club in Vietnam from March 6-9.

Gole is currently 103rd in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), the third highest rated Australian in the standings.

Gole won both the R&A Senior Amateur and the USGA Senior Amateur in 2024. In 2022 she was a member of the triumphant Australian team in the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation Senior Championships in Malaysia.

The six-player Australian team for the WAAP also includes Queenslanders Sarah Hammett, Lion Higo and Hannah Reeves, Victorian Jazy Roberts and New South Wales player Ella Scaysbrook, winner of last week's Avondale Bowl.

Justice Bosio was Australia’s best performer last year, finishing seventh at Siam Country Club in Thailand. She has since turned professional. Hammett, Rathbone and Roberts were all on that team.

No Australian has won the event since its inception in 2018.

The winner earns invitations to play in three Major championships – the AIG Women’s British Open, Amundi Evian Championship and the Chevron Championship – as well as the Hana Financial Group Championship, ISPS Handa Australian Open, the Women’s Amateur Championship and an invitation to play in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur.
