Triumphant Achiraya Rises in World Ranking

Bangkok, Thailand: Achiraya Sriwong has started 2025 the way she ended the old year: by winning a golf tournament.

Achiraya ran out a four-shot winner of the Thailand National Team Ranking #1 in her birthplace by posting rounds of 71, 72 and 73 for a 216 tally.

It was her second straight World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) victory following the Singha Thailand Amateur Open, one of five victories she recorded in 2024.

Thanks to her latest success, Achiraya has progressed four positions in the WAGR to 40th spot.

She is the third highest-rated Thai in the standings after Eila Galitsky (18th) and Suvichaya Vinichaitham (29th).

In the absence of Galitsky and Suvichaya, Achiraya will be Thailand’s top prospect in the 2025 Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific (WAAP).

With Galitsky and Suvichaya unable to participate at Vietnam’s Hoiana Shores Golf Club in March due to college commitments in the United States, Thai hopes of a third WAAP triumph will rest on the shoulders of Achiraya.

At last year’s WAAP, Achiraya came close to emulating the victories of Atthaya 'Jeeno' Thitikul in 2018 and Galitsky in 2023, finishing in a share of third place at Siam Country Club.

In the men’s WAGR, Parin Sarasmut and Settawut Kenanan improved their standings after sharing victory in the Thailand National Team Ranking #1.

Parin, the reigning Singha Thailand Amateur Open, has advanced to 644th from 730th, while Settawut is now ranked 825th after soaring 1,393 places.
